Fundraising for Unicef and to get the opportunity to shadow a masterclass!
Help us change the world for thousands of children. The funds we raise will help UNICEF to complete the Lega and Yelam Gej multi-village solar-powered water systems in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia.
You can fundraise with us, donate now and join our movement to create a fitter planet. Every USD$450 we raise can provide 12 children a lifetime of clean water.
Les Mills are also offering instructors the chance to be part of something amazing by giving us the opportunity to be in a coming masterclass. Help me reach my Workout For Water goal and reach another goal of being on the big stage in Auckland!
WE HAVE REACHED OUR GOAL! cONGRATULATIONS ALL!
Today I sat down to go through all of the cash donations and I'm pleased to announce that WE MADE IT!
Thank you to everyone that has donated, you are all incredible.
Today, together, we have managed to bring clean, safe drinking water to 24 children for the rest of their lives!
I will be putting in a donation myself of £10 also right now. I have not donated yet this year and also I'm a little concerned that currency fluxuation may take us from our target.
Thank you once again to everyone!
On sunday I finially finished my Workout For Water Challenge.
That 20L can of mine has travelled 42km with me on foot.
Throughout the week, my body reacted negatively to the load and distance. Blisters on my toes and heels, knees clicking and aching, bruises on my hips, back ache, neck pain and oddly I now have a stress lump on the top of my head.
But let's remember that this is something that some people have to do every single day just for the basic amenity of clean drinking water.
Fo every $450 raised we bring 12 children clean drinking water for the rest of their lives. So far we've gone over that number, so thank you for that.
But the campaign is not finished yet.
My goal is at $1000, roughly £820, and I hope to reach that goal.
We only have until 31st August (that's this Saturday!)
If you have already donated then I thank you, and I ask that you please share the link for this page with your friends and family so we can make one final push to hit the target.
I already have cash donations also that I'll be counting up and putting in very soon, so we're even closer than the number you see on screen.
Can we hit the target before Saturday?
Thank you so much for your kind donations this far.
Two days done. Three to go
I have completed 2 walks so far.
I have a couple of blisters, my back is starting to hurt, my glutes ache, and my head is sore and red from the water being on it.
I need you now more than ever, every day will be a struggle and I am really wondering if I can complete this challenge.
Today I have 5 classes around my walk, today I'll be walking at Riverside Leisure Centre in Exeter before a Body Attack class.
Please, please, we need your donations.
SIDE KICK VIDEO CURRENTLY UPLOADING!
Finally the video I promised is uploading as I type! Please allow roughly 15 minutes for the upload to finish.
It'll be on my Facebook page, free to view and share as you please.
Another little update`
Back now from time away at Boomtown and getting back into the swing of things.
Wow! The progress that we've made so far has been staggering! Thank you So much everyone for your kind donations!
We are only a few days away from my Workout For Water main campaign event and should be getting the 20 litre jug in the post today.
Let's keep on pushing this great cause!
Video as promised for reaching £100 is coming possibly tomorrow!
The challenge is laid down!
A quick update...
As you may have seen I have a new video on my Instagram page (dannydowlinglm) in which I talk about what I'm going to do in order to raise the much needed funds for this amazing campaign.
If you don't want to go there:
Every day, people in third world countries will walk approximately 6km round trips in order to fill up on water. Water that is not always clean or santiary. And when they fill up they fill up for around 20 litres. That's a lot to carry 3km!
I decided to test myself against this and get a glimpse into what it would be like to walk that distance. Starting on 19th August and ending on the 26th August I'll be do a 6km walk with 20 litres of water on my head. I will be pairing this walk with a fitness class. Be it Body Pump, Body Combat, Body Attack or Spin, I'll do the walk and get the mic on and do my thing.
Please keep an eye and ear out for more updates about this challenge.
And of course; please please give generously.
Thank you all,
Goal 1: £100
Hi everyone, a second blog post in no time at all because I have something interesting for you Body Combat fans:
At £100 I'll create a full, in depth video breaking down and giving help learning, in full, the very difficult move that we see in Body Combat: side kick.
If that isn't for you, then donate and prepare for the next video after ;)
The ball gets rolling...
A massive thank you to the first donation given by the fantastic Rebecca Ashmead!
It's going to be a long journey to the goal, but it takes one brave individual to be the first.
I hope to see many more soon!
