Walk to Workout for Water

On Sunday 18th August, I will be walking to workout for water to help us change the world for thousands of children. The funds we raise will help UNICEF to complete the Lega and Yelam Gej multi-village solar-powered water systems in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia.


Rather than driving to my 8.30am Sunday morning Body Pump class, I will be walking the 3.5 miles to Dorking Sports Centre from my home, to teach my 60 minute Body Pump class. I'll be live streaming parts of the journey and a short section of the Workout For Water track in Pump.

From there, I will walk for a further 2 hours approximately, tackling the 224m accent up to the Viewpoint of Box Hill and then walking back home. The whole event should take me approximately 4-5 hours, which is the length of time that children in Ethiopia have to walk everyday to get clean drinking water.

WE DID IT!!

Thank you everyone for your wonderful donations. I completed the walk/workout yesterday in 6 hours and 15 minutes. It was tough going but great to have your support spurring me on. I met some new people along the way and am really grateful for the encouragement they gave to a complete stranger. We have raised over £1000 so far, which is above and beyond the initial target I set. I can't thank you all enough. I'll try an post some pictures but feel free to check out the videos and photos on my facebook page.

Walk Details

Here's the info according to Google Maps. 

The walk only element of the event should take me 3 hours and 49 minutes and the distace is approximately 10.8 miles. This might alter slightly because I plan to take some of the scenic routes so you can enjoy some beautiful views with me.
